Hummingbird Mornings™,
an informative and entertaining public presentation about
hummingbird banding, will be held at three locations in August 2000.
Presentations will be given by
Bill Hilton Jr., executive director of
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History,
at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. each day at each location:

5-6 Aug (Sat-Sun)--Allison Woods, Statesville NC
11-12 Aug (Fri-Sat)--Stacy's Greenhouses, York SC
19-20 Aug (Sat-Sun)--RibbonWalk, Charlotte NC

Female and juvenile American Redstarts lack the brilliant black and brick-orange colors of the adult male, but they're still easily identified by their very large yellow tail spots and wing bars.
