HILTON POND CENTER BEGINS 24th YEAR !


On 1 January 2005, Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History entered its 24th year as a bird banding research station and environmental learning site.

From 28 June 1982 through 31 December 2004, Bill Hilton Jr. banded 45,307 birds of 124 species on the 4.5 hectare (11-acre) tract, making it one of the most active banding stations in the southeastern United States.
