HILTON POND CENTER GETS ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE UNDERGROUND POWER INSTALLATION
Part 6

Because a transformer was mounted the power pole at the west end of the property at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History, a second pole was set to receive the underground connection.

Pike Electric, subcontractors to Duke Energy, used a bucket truck to first drill a hole (left) and then set a new pole to the right of the existing one. Except for cutting a few pine trees where the truck sits in the photo, this installation was easily accomplished because of accessibility from DeVinney Road (right photo foreground).
